NOVA is committed to its mission of developing excellence in swimmers of all ages and abilities, in a safe and inclusive environment. Henrico County Public School system has articulated a new goal of teaching all second graders how to swim. During the 2021-22 school year, NOVA delivered lessons to 450 second graders at no cost, all from Title One schools. Enrollment for this program will exceed 1,000 students in 2022-23. Through its private-public partnership with Henrico County, NOVA can change lives, equipping these children with a crucial life skill and helping them experience the joy of swimming. To support underserved youth, NOVA distributes between $40,000 to $50,000 annually in scholarships and financial aid.
NOVA has built relationships with a variety of organizations in the Richmond Metro area. These include Henrico County Second Grade Learn to Swim, Henrico High School Swimming, Sportable, Autism Society of Central Virginia, Latin Education Advancement Program (LEAP), The Steward School, the Police Athletic League, Goochland Christmas Mother, Henrico Christmas Mother, Special Olympics, and more. The corporate community recognizes NOVA outreach efforts and provides sponsorships to support programming.
NOVA appreciates and benefits from the support received from NOVA families, businesses, foundations, and local government. This support can be financial, expert professional assistance, and volunteerism. NOVA welcomes help from individuals and organizations. Please consider that NOVA has a wide reach within the community and can offer public acknowledgement of contributions and gifts.
